How the Two Days Run
Delphi in the morning of day one, Meteora in the morning of day two. Four things to sort before you book.
Pick the Hotel Grade
The tour comes with a 3-star or 4-star hotel in Kalambaka, chosen at booking. Each booking is a double or triple room; a single room needs its own booking for one person.
Be Ready for the Pickup
Pickup runs from most central Athens hotels about an hour before departure; otherwise meet at the operator's office 15 minutes before.
Pack for Two Dress Codes
Delphi has none, but the monasteries do: women in skirts to the knee or longer, men in long trousers, shoulders covered. Pack it for the morning of day two.
Keep Cash for the Hotel Tax
A small accommodation tax per room per night is paid directly to the hotel in Kalambaka and is not in the tour price.

Two Days, Two Sites
Is the Two-Day Delphi and Meteora Tour the Right Call?
It saves you a second fourteen-hour day. Here is what you get in return, and where the time goes.
Delphi and Meteora are the two big inland trips from Athens, and they sit on the same road north. Delphi is about three hours from Athens; Meteora is about three hours further on. Done as two separate day trips, that is two long days and roughly fourteen hours of coach. Done together, it is two days, one hotel night in Kalambaka, and each site in the morning, which is when both are at their best.
How the two days run
The tour at the top of this page is Key Tours’ two-day guided trip, the most-reviewed of the combinations. Day one leaves Athens in the morning, passes Thebes, Livadeia and Arachova, and reaches Delphi for a guided tour of the site: the Temple of Apollo, the theatre and the stadium. In the afternoon the coach drives on to Kalambaka for dinner and the night. Day two is the Meteora monasteries in the morning, with visits inside two of them, then the drive back to Athens with a short stop at the Leonidas monument at Thermopylae.
The price includes the coach, a professional guide, the hotel (3-star or 4-star, by option), breakfast and dinner, entry to the Delphi archaeological site and entry to two monasteries. It starts from $272 per person in current promotion (usually $303), rated 4.5 from 954 reviews (checked October 2026), with free cancellation up to 24 hours before.
Two things are not in the price: lunches, and the hotel accommodation tax, paid at the hotel per room per night.
Where the time goes
The combination saves you a second return journey, but it does not buy much extra time at either site. A recent reviewer chose to walk up to the stadium at Delphi in the free time and then had no time left for the museum. Note which you care about more before the day. Another said the 3-star hotel felt more like a 2-star; if the night matters, take the 4-star option.
At Meteora you get two monasteries inside and the viewpoints over the rest. The Meteora day trips from Athens usually enter three, so if Meteora is the half you care most about, a Meteora-only trip gives it more time.
Who should book which
Delphi and Meteora in two days
Delphi entry and two monasteries included, a hotel night with breakfast and dinner, and a guide for both sites.
Check dates →Two days at Meteora only
A sunset tour on the first evening and the monasteries or a hike the next morning; no Delphi.

See the three days →Prices, ratings and review counts from GetYourGuide, checked October 2026. Operators price by season, so treat them as the shape of the market, not a quote.
If you only have one day, choose one site rather than squeezing both: the Delphi day trip is about ten hours, the Meteora day trip about fourteen. The Delphi or Meteora guide helps you choose. G.O. Tours runs a similar two-day coach tour with a hotel in Kalambaka, from $258 per person; its Delphi museum ticket is not included.

What Travellers Say About the Two Days
"The 2 day tour of Delphi and Meteora was awesome! Both the guides were very good! Nikos had a great sense of humor and kept us engaged all through. Food stop on the first day was very good. On the 2nd day on the way back, lunch stop was not good and can be in a better restaurant/tavern. There were enough restroom breaks on the drives. We chose to hike to the stadium in Delphi in the free time, so didn’t have time to visit the museum. .:( Maybe more free time in Delphi with no stop at Battlefield of Thermopyles. There was enough free time at the monasteries to explore and take pics. Overall a well organized, amazing trip!"
"Eirini K. was such an amazing guide, hostess, and teacher! Her enthusiasm for her work is inspiring, and we learned so much from her. Meteora is surreal, and walking around Delphi with our own historian was ideal. The bus was clean and comfortable, and our driver was so helpful as well. We chose the 2 star accommodation, which was ok. Overall, this was the absolute best way to spend two precious days of vacation."
"Without a doubt, the guide, Dimitri, was very attentive and helpful throughout the trip. Everything was very well organized."
"EVERYTHING was great: our knowledgeable guide, Julia, our excellent driver, George, the itinerary with perfect timing for lunch breaks, the hotel accommodations and two included meals. Plus of course the meteoric views from the monasteries at Meteora. We also really enjoyed Delphi. So interesting to walk through the place while hearing its ancient history. This tour was a highlight of our whole trip!"
"Such a great experience! Julia the guide and George the driver were helpful, friendly and funny. Excellent info from Julia and everything planned perfectly. Always felt safe with George’s expert driving. The locations were stunning. Sooo happy we went in this extra adventure from Athens!"
"Great tour very informative our guide and driver were fabulous would highly recommend."
"We loved the excursion, and the live guide was wonderful. Highly recommended."

Delphi and Meteora Tours: Questions People Ask
Answered in the first sentence, explained in the ones after.
Technically yes, but it is not a good day. Delphi is about three hours from Athens and Meteora about three hours further, so a one-day version spends most of its hours on the road and very little at either site. A two-day tour with a night in Kalambaka gives each site a proper morning. With only one day, choose one.
About three hours by road. The road goes north via Lamia and Trikala, across the plain of Thessaly, to Kalambaka at the foot of the rocks. The two-day tours do that drive on the afternoon of the first day, after Delphi, and arrive in Kalambaka for dinner.
On the tour on this page: the coach, a professional guide, a 3-star or 4-star hotel in Kalambaka, breakfast and dinner, Delphi site entry and entry to two monasteries. Not included: lunches and the hotel accommodation tax, paid at the hotel. Pickup is from most central Athens hotels about an hour before departure. It starts from $272 per person in current promotion (usually $303) (checked October 2026).
For most people, yes. Two day trips mean about 24 hours of tour time over two days (10 for Delphi, 14 for Meteora), roughly 14 of them on the coach; the two-day tour spends fewer hours driving and adds a night in Kalambaka, with both sites in the morning. The trade-off is time at Meteora: the two-day coach tours enter two monasteries, while most Meteora day trips enter three. If Meteora matters most, consider two days at Meteora alone and Delphi as its own day.
Yes, but as its own booking. Each booking on the tour on this page corresponds to a double or triple room, so a solo traveller wanting a single room books separately for one person. Check the hotel option (3-star or 4-star) at the same time.
One small bag, shoes with grip, and monastery clothes. Delphi has no dress code, but Meteora does: women need a skirt to the knee or longer, men long trousers, and shoulders covered. Bring cash for the hotel tax and for anything the tour does not include, and your passport or ID card for the hotel and for reduced tickets.
